2019 brought a plethora of local happenings. From Orange County's School Impact Fee Study to the City of Orlando's recycling program, as well as two legislative delegation meetings, January set the local legislative scene, and tone for the rest of 2019.

In February, the Florida apartment industry took the Capitol by storm as they advocated and advanced the wants and needs of the industry at the 2019 FAA Legislative Conference.

Our 2019 Legislative Priorities included:

  • Support of SB70, full funding of the Sadowski Affordable Housing Trust Fund
  • Support of legislation calling for the prohibition of mandatory inclusionary zoning practices. (Covering a multitude of development-related issues, HB 7103)
  • Support of legislation to reduce emotional support animal (ESA) abuse and fraud.
  • Support of SB144 calling for clarification of the impact fee process.
