Meet our 2019 Volunteers of the Year!

Posted By: Trinity Kutschinski Membership, Member Spotlights, Publications,

It should come as no surprise that an enormous part of the success in our events, educational programs, and advocacy efforts are the product of our assiduously committed and benevolent volunteer leaders.

Now more than ever, it is so easy to get swept up in life's happenings. So, before we get upswept in the fun-filled and jam-packed event season around the corner, please join us in recognizing two very special individuals...

Our 2019 AAGO Volunteers of the Year!

Management Volunteer of the Year, Steve Ogier!

CCIM, President of ContraVest Builders, Principal

A tireless advocate for the development community and the apartment industry, Mr. Ogier is an active participant on the Developers Council and numerous other facets of the association.Steve is not one to sit on the sidelines and continuously goes to bat for our industry. He has testified at numerous county/municipal meetings, on issues ranging from impact fees to housing affordability.

Additionally, Mr. Ogier participated on the AAGO “State of the Market” panel championing healthy apartment supply and workforce development. Steve and ContraVest believe in the value of full association involvement! For these reasons and many more, we are honored to recognize Steve Ogier as our Management Volunteer of the Year.

Associate Volunteer of the Year, Sarah Hawthorne!

Sunbright Outdoor Furniture

Sarah Hawthorne, or “volunteer unicorn" as we like to call her, goes above and beyond what it means to be fully engaged in the association. As Vice-Chair of the Membership Committee, she warmly welcomes new members, sending handwritten thank-you notes, and making herself available at their disposal. Sarah is a strong voice for the association and one of our strongest ambassadors.

She has an uncanny ability to see how the association functions as an ecosystem and how the health of the association and the industry relies on involvement and participation. We appreciate the hard work and dedication Sarah pours into AAGO and are proud to select her as Associate Volunteer of the Year!

We cannot thank you enough for your continued involvement, efforts, and engagement in the association!
