Corporate Social Responsibility Pays Big Dividends

As 2017 winds down and we reflect on ways to improve our operations in the New Year, we can’t overlook the positive impact of giving back to the special place we call “home.” The apartment industry is a driving force in central Florida economy and we have an obligation to lead by lead by example when it comes to volunteerism. One way you can lead by example and serve the community you love is to embrace your organization’s corporate social responsibility.

In a nutshell, corporate social responsibility is best defined as a business’ willingness to give back to those in need. This philanthropy can come in a variety of forms, such as: organizing volunteers for a local pet adoption event, collecting canned goods for a food pantry, or providing employees with extra time off specifically for volunteer work in the community. These activities provide employees with a better perspective on the communities they serve and give the industry an opportunity to shine. It is important to note, that the benefits of corporate volunteerism don’t stop there.

In today’s market, employees thirst for a job that inspires them both personally and professionally. This practice is especially common among millennial employees. Industry leaders who take advantage of this passion by promoting corporate social responsibility will increase employee job satisfaction and boost morale.

If you’re eager to get some skin the game, you don’t have to wait until you can organize a big volunteer event. AAGO is gearing up for the Thanks for Giving Luncheon on November 10th and we need your help to spread holiday cheer to children in need in the central Florida region. As in years past, we will be collecting new and unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots program at this event.

At this year’s event, we will once again celebrate members who volunteer their time and talents to help make this world a better place. We hope you will join us on November 10th as we honor those in the industry who lead by example and give back to both the association and the community. Don't forget to bring a new and unwrapped toy for our annual Toys for Tots Drive! The aparment community with the most toys will win a free lunch with Darrin and Jodi Sink (D. Sink Inc.)!
