AAGO Student Spotlights

Membership, Member Spotlights,

Still thinking about getting certified? Well stop thinking and start doing. Here are a couple testimonials from AAGO members who use our classes to stay upt-to-date with industry trends and to receive their certifications.

"My career has grown exponentially from the education I have received at AAGO. They have been a great resource for industry trends, updates to landlord/tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, and leadership skills. Plus, they have the best instructors for CAM and CAPS certifications."

"I absolutely love the AAGO community! I learned so much about legal notices from the Tennant Law class taught by James Barron. Every class I have attended has allowed me to meet new people and also helped me with continuing to grow in this ever changing industry!"

"AAGO has welcomed me into this industry with the knowledge and education I need to help serve my customers! I started with Zillow in February and was brand new to the industry. If it wasn't for AAGO, I would not be where I am today in my career. I have attended Introduction to the Apartment Industry, New Member Orientation, and Relationship Building classes, just to name a few. The knowledge I took away from these classes helps me continue to succeed today."

“To educate and empower... This is exactly what I have gained from AAGO. I have taken several courses including: Landlord/Tenant Law, Eat the Frog and Leasing 101. These classes have helped develop my career both professionally and personally. AAGO's education program has been an important part of my success because everything I learn can be applied to my daily duties. Aside from the courses I've taken at AAGO, I have also joined one of the committees as a volunteer. I believe my involvement as a volunteer is an asset to my career. It has been a great experience to be part of AAGO and I look forward to continuing my career and involvement with the association."

"My name is Jesse Hamilton, and I am one of the Darren E. Lee scholarship recipients. When I heard about the scholarship via AAGO’s website I was thrilled to learn about this opportunity to acquire more knowledge and progress within the apartment industry. I have been part of the apartment industry since 2011 and have taken the following courses at AAGO: EPA, R410A, CPO, HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing courses. In addition, I have also acquired my WDO through NACHI. I sought my CAMT to put me ahead of the game because I am always striving for education to better myself and to educate others. So when I was chosen as the Darren E. Lee Scholarship recipient, I was honored. My long-term goal is to attain a Regional Manager position and I am confident that my CAMT experience will play a role in my ability to achieve this role."

"I am thankful to have completed my CAMT (Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician) designation courses at AAGO. These courses, which are based on the ongoing maintenance of apartments, helped grow my career in the property management industry. I recommend the CAMT program to all employees who are looking to improve their ability to manage and maintain their properties. The AAGO instructors are highly trained and ready to help everyone advance to the next stage of their career development."

“The opportunities for professional development at AAGO are timely, relevant and valuable.  Within 6 months, I obtained my CAM and my CAPS designations.  And with the APASS monthly membership, my staff and I have attended many other quality classes.  The staff at AAGO is in tune with the educational needs of the professionals in the industry, regardless of experience level or position held, and they also encourage, motivate and support their members.  These experiences not only allow for networking with other professionals and for me to be the best Community Manager that I can be, but they also empower my staff to broaden their knowledge base.”

"Continuing your education should never be taken lightly and it is essential to one’s growth.  AAGO is my grad school of the multi-family housing industry. I went to school at Florida State University and majored in residential housing management. I have been in the multi-family industry and part of the Apartment Association of Greater Orlando since 2008. Joining AAGO is one of the best educational, social, and professional decisions I made. I completed the CAM, CAMT, CAPS designation programs and look to complete more. I have learned tremendously through these courses that I utilize the knowledge from these courses on an everyday basis. In my opinion, all managers should take the CAPS course. The teacher Alexandria is the best! I also love the APASS program because the free courses are great opportunities to better polish your skills. Everything AAGO has to offer, including the wonderful people you meet and the membership communities you can join, has helped me grow from a Leasing Agent to now a Property Manager at a 30 year old, 596 unit property."

"AAGO has been a tremendous asset to my career in multifamily housing. Ever since we joined AAGO, our network and knowledge has grown beyond our expectations in such a short period of time. I contribute our progress to our educational and committee involvement at AAGO. My objective with our membership was not only to gain strong professional relationships but also to add value to my clients and future clients through education and involvement at AAGO. AAGO offers a great variety of courses (such as leasing, marketing, designates, and so much more). I am currently a CAS (Certified Apartment Supplier) Designate and I'm set to receive designation this coming fall. It has been a wonderful experience learning side-by-side with other like-minded multifamily professionals."
