Professional Bio

Joel Newton is the Founder & CEO of BidBuddy, the AI-powered bid intelligence platform built for multifamily and property management. BidBuddy helps owners, asset managers, and operators run defensible, accountable bid processes across every type of property work- repairs, maintenance, turns, CapEx, and emergency response, using AI to surface scope gaps, level bids, and reduce change order and vendor risk.
Joel brings a deep operator’s perspective to proptech, shaped by more than two decades across the building industry. He has helped launch and scale three local construction firms, most recently culminating in a successful acquisition by private equity. Earlier in his career, Joel built operational experience on the supply side of the industry, in the manufacturing and distribution of building materials giving him a full-spectrum view of how products, labor, and scope flow from factory floor to finished property. This rare combination of contractor, supplier, and founder experience drives BidBuddy’s approach to scope clarity, vendor accountability, and process integrity for institutional and owner-operator portfolios alike.
Joel is actively engaged in the central Florida business and civic community. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Joe R. Lee Branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida, and on the BUILT National executive committee for the Orlando, Tampa, and South Florida chapters.
Joel has watched the traditional bid process fail everyone involved. On jobs of every size, from both sides of the table and he’s on a mission to fix it. He’s committed to sharing what he’s learned with property managers, asset managers, and operators so they can cut risk, avoid surprises, and protect their portfolios.
