Water intrusion can lead to costly damage, recurring maintenance issues, and resident frustration if the source is not identified and addressed properly. This educational and hands-on course is designed to help multifamily maintenance professionals better understand how water enters apartment homes, how to identify the root cause, and what steps can be taken to prevent further damage.

Participants will explore common sources of water intrusion in apartment communities, including plumbing leaks, HVAC-related moisture, exterior building issues, and appliance failures. Through practical examples and guided instruction, attendees will learn how to inspect affected areas, recognize signs of hidden moisture, and troubleshoot water-related problems more effectively.

This course will also cover the importance of timely response, documentation, and communication when addressing water intrusion issues in occupied homes and during unit turns. By combining foundational knowledge with hands-on learning, participants will leave with practical strategies they can apply in the field to diagnose issues faster, protect the asset, and support a better resident experience.
