Plumbing 101: Building the Foundation for Apartment Repairs
Hands-On Training!
This hands-on course introduces maintenance technicians to the fundamentals of apartment plumbing systems and equips them to handle everyday service requests with confidence.
Participants will learn how domestic water supply, DWV, and hot water distribution systems work within a multifamily property, along with key shutoff locations, plumbing materials, and fixture components found in apartment homes. The course covers safe work practices for occupied units, common plumbing repairs (flappers, fill valves, supply lines, angle stops, aerators, and P-traps), garbage disposal troubleshooting, laundry hookup basics, and how to properly respond to plumbing emergencies.
During this hands-on class, technicians will practice real repairs — replacing fill valves, flappers, angle stops, and P-traps, installing washing machine hoses, and servicing garbage disposals — followed by a practical evaluation to confirm readiness. This interactive format ensures technicians leave with the tools and confidence to complete routine plumbing repairs independently.
