A well-organized maintenance shop is more than just clean shelves and labeled bins—it’s the foundation of an efficient, safe, and compliant maintenance operation. In this course, maintenance professionals will learn how to create and maintain a shop that supports productivity, reduces waste, improves inventory control, and promotes workplace safety.

Participants will explore best practices for organizing tools, supplies, and parts; establishing inventory systems to track materials and minimize overstock or shortages; and creating shop procedures that help teams work more efficiently day to day. The course will also cover essential safety and compliance topics, including proper management of SDS logs, safe storage of chemicals and materials in flammable closets, and understanding PPE requirements for common maintenance tasks.

Whether you are setting up a new maintenance shop or improving an existing one, this class will provide practical strategies to keep your shop organized, stocked, safe, and inspection-ready.

Topics Covered May Include:

  • Shop layout and organization strategies for maintenance efficiency
  • Inventory control systems for tools, supplies, and replacement parts
