Take your electrical knowledge to the next level with advanced troubleshooting techniques designed specifically for multifamily maintenance professionals. Building on the foundation established in Level 1, this hands-on course dives deeper into electrical systems, meter usage, and code awareness to help technicians diagnose issues more accurately, work more efficiently, and strengthen safety practices on the job.

Participants will gain practical experience using electrical meters to test voltage, continuity, and other key readings while learning how to interpret results to identify common electrical problems in apartment homes. The course will also introduce important National Electrical Code (NEC) concepts relevant to multifamily maintenance, helping participants better understand code-related considerations, recognize potential hazards, and know when an issue requires a licensed electrician.

Through real-world scenarios and guided instruction, this class is designed to build confidence in troubleshooting more complex electrical concerns while reinforcing safe work practices and sound decision-making in the field.

Key objectives of the class include:

  • Proper use of electrical meters for testing and troubleshooting
  • Understanding voltage, continuity, and other common electrical readings
  • Advanced troubleshooting for common multifamily electrical issues
  • Introduction to relevant NEC codes and code-related best practices
  • Identifying potential safety hazards and recognizing code concerns
  • Knowing when to escalate an issue to a licensed electrician
  • Scenario-based troubleshooting using real-world maintenance examples
