Orlando United Day
June 12, 2016 was a day that changed Orlando and the central Florida community forever. On this day, 49 beautiful souls lost their lives in what would later be known as the Pulse Nightclub tragedy. In the wake of this devastation, the City of Orlando banded together in a way this community, the state and our nation have never seen. We came together to love and support one another at a time when the community needed it most. In turn, the City of Orlando became a beacon of hope for diversity, acceptance, kindness and unity.
The City of Orlando will honor the lives of the 49 victims by designating Monday, June 12, 2017 as Orlando United Day- A Day of Love and Kindness. This day will be filled with events and activities that will provide meaningful opportunities for everyone in the community to show compassion for those impacted by this tragedy. We hope you will join us by participating in this meaningful opportunity to support the local community.
