This hands-on course builds on foundational plumbing skills, preparing maintenance technicians to diagnose and respond to more complex plumbing issues across a multifamily property.

Participants will explore building-wide systems including water mains, risers, isolation valves, booster pumps, and recirculation systems, along with lift station components, operation, and emergency response procedures. The course covers how to identify slab leaks, use advanced leak detection equipment to differentiate between plumbing, roof, HVAC, and window intrusion issues, and properly respond to water damage events — from stopping the source to coordinating restoration. Technicians will also learn preventative maintenance best practices for annual inspections of water heaters, lift stations, backflow devices, and other critical systems.

During this hands-on class, technicians will sharpen their diagnostic skills and decision-making. A final practical evaluation confirms readiness to handle advanced plumbing challenges, communicate effectively with residents, and document repairs accurately.
