Volunteer Opportunities 

Get plugged in and stay connected by volunteering on an AAGO Committee!

The Apartment Association of Greater Orlando (AAGO) relies heavily on volunteer leaders from all walks of apartment industry life to maintain efficient association organization. Committee volunteer opportunities provide AAGO members with invaluable networking channels, a chance to kindle and develop meaningful relationships with peers, and gain insight into the central Florida market. All AAGO members are invited to volunteer on the committee (or committees!) that best suits their talents and interests.

Committees adhere to their set meeting schedules and until further notice, meet virtually. Unless otherwise noted, committee participation and meetings are open to all AAGO members. If you would like to discuss your talents and how they could best be utilized at AAGO or if you would like to sign up to volunteer, please contact the AAGO staff liaison listed underneath the committee description!

Friends of the Foundation Committee

This committee assists with the AAGO Foundation’s philanthropic efforts, which include but are not limited to: Apartment Industry Job Shadow Day, the Summer Party Rock & Bowl Night, Casino Night, events with community partner organizations, and the annual Toys for Tots drive.  It focuses on fundraising in order to help the AAGO Foundation Charity Partners reach more people in need. It also provides hands-on experiences through volunteering time and giving assistance to those in the local community with a goal of bettering their lives.  If you want a great experience networking with those in the industry who have a shared passion for helping others then this is the committee for you.

Membership Committee

This body seeks innovative, new approaches to best and most efficiently serve/engage new AAGO members and enhance the association’s outreach in the central Florida Market.

Legislative Committee

This group of industry professionals monitors legislative developments that impact the apartment market at the local, state, and national levels. The committee members are also intimately involved with planning the annual Legislative Days trip to Tallahassee and AAGO’s annual Political Action Committee (PAC) Fundraiser.

Young Professionals Committee

This body is comprised of professionals who are 40 years old and under from various facets of the apartment industry. The committee seeks to increase AAGO engagement from young professionals and foster leadership development opportunities for committee members.  

Meeting Schedule: Bimonthly (every other month)

Special Events Committee

This dedicated group of volunteers is responsible for helping to plan many of AAGO’s signature events: Maintenance Appreciation, Golden Key Awards, Trade Show, Lease-A-Palooza, and the Business Exchange.

Building Committee: (Invitation Only)

This select group of volunteers is charged with the responsibility of monitoring AAGO’s Headquarters in Maitland, FL to ensure the building receives timely and effective routine maintenance.

Communications and Branding Committee:  (Invitation Only)

This group of specialized professionals assists with AAGO’s communications and branding efforts.

Education Advisory Council:  (Invitation Only)

This council is comprised of senior management and training officials with an extensive background in education in the apartment industry. The council provides AAGO with guidance regarding relevant industry issues and potential educational opportunities that could assist professionals in their career development.

Central Florida Developers Council: (Invitation Only)

This council was formed for the purpose of responding to local and state issues directly impacting the development of multi-family housing. The development of apartment housing is critically needed in order to keep up with the influx of people moving to central Florida.  This group meets on a regular, but not monthly, basis to discuss emerging issues of broad industry concern.
